Enlightened Christian Gathering church leader Shepard Bushiri and Mary Bushiri are still in police custody after appearing in court earlier this morning.
The two were arrested last week Friday by the Hawks in a hotel in Rustenburg on charges of fraud and money laundering.
Shepard Bushiri and his wife Mary Bushiri will have a bail hearing this coming Wednesday. They will remain in police custody until then.
Supporters of Bushiri flooded the streets of Pretoria in support of their beloved “papa” or “father” as in he is fondly called by his followers.
The supporters have even vowed not to vote if their “father” isn’t released.
Such is the level of Bushiri’s followers and supporters.
