There have been claims that the implementation of stage 4 load shedding is a result of sabotage.
Eskom started stage 4 load shedding on Monday this week with an estimated target to shed off 4,000 megawatts by the end of this week.
The African National Congress’s Zizi Kodwa said on Tuesday that Eskom’s implementation of power cuts was an attempt to sabotage President Cyril Ramaphosa’s new vision for South Africa.
As of now the statement is that the current load shedding situation is due to technical failures.
Eskom reportedly had six additional generating units go offline on Monday which resulted in the stage 4 load shedding.
However the reports are that there is a probe in to the allegations of sabotage.
