HHP’s son Leano accepts the Life Time Achievement award at the 2019 SAMA’s.
Lerato first shared the news that HHP will be awarded the Life Time Achievement award on her social media with a post that reads “This was 2017. Motho receiving his Lifetime Achievement Award from the @satmaawards. It meant a lot to him because he believed dearly in the preservation of indigenous sounds & language. Fast forward to 2019 – I AM INSANELY PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT MOTHO WILL BE RECEIVING A LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FROM RiSA DURING THIS YEARS @thesamas_! Making him the FIRST hip hop artist to receive one and the YOUNGEST solo recipient of this prestigious recognition! I feel BEYOND blessed to have played a role in making this happen for him. But honestly he did it! This is all him. I’m just a vessel, executing a calling. I am a bag of emotions but mostly I am beaming at my King’s accomplishments & bravery. Motho, this is only the beginning… I promise! #SAMA25 #GOAT#TheBlueprint #IWillNotCower #143”
Then HHP’s former business partner at Lekoko Entertainment came out with allegations that Lerato wasn’t entitled to collect the award on behalf of HHP because she isn’t HHP’s customary wife.
So leading up to the SAMA 25 awards we were all curious to see who would collect the award.
In the end it was collected by HHP’s 14 year old son Leano.
