Free State Stars midfielder Sinethemba Jantjie dies in car crash in the early hours of Monday morning.
According to the reports the accident happened around 6 am this morning in Bethlehem, Free State.
On a social media post Free State Stars confirmed the sad news with a post that reads “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Free State Stars midfielder Sinethemba Jantjie. He was only 30 years old. RIP to a great player. #RIPJantjie”
A statement on the Free State Stars website reads “the club plans to meet with Jantjie’s family, after which they will give further details of the funeral and memorial arrangements.”
Sinethemba Jantjie made his Premier Soccer League debut in the 2016/17 season. This season he found himself a regular starter for Free State Stars.
He played in 20 of the 24 games this season.
He was in impressive form and caught the eye of Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt. He had signed a pre-contract with Bidvest Wits for next season.
