Ex-Bafana Bafana player Lerato Chabangu is relishing the opportunity to play football again.

Lerato Chabangu has signed a 6 month deal with Midrand based Baberwa FC. Baberwa FC is currently playing the ABC Motsepe League which is the third tier of South African professional football.

Lerato Chabangu is no stranger to playing in the ABC Motsepe league as he played for Pretoria Callies last year.

Baberwa FC currently boosts a squad of ex-PSL players such as Tefu Mashamaite, Luyolo Nomandela, Lucky Khune, Khethokwakhe Masuku, Bheki Nzunga, Linda Shiba and Mthokozisi Yende.

Definitely a very experienced squad no wonder Barberwa FC is currently number 1 on the ABC Motsepe Gauteng log.

There are many rumours going around that Baberwa is a team with immense finances above the league that they are currently a part of.

However Baberwa chairman Joe Seanego said “No, we are not rich. We are lucky that we have donors, like last month someone from Cape Town donated 24 balls. I cannot lie to you. These players are not expensive at all, because they are here due to passion, not money. All the senior players earn R8, 000. The juniors get R6, 000.”

One thing is for sure is that they club does pay their players well enough.

Considering not so long ago there was reports that certain PSL players earn as little as R5, 000 a month.
