Bafana Bafana squad to face Libya

South African national soccer team head coach Stuart Baxter has announced the 24 man squad to face Libya in the last round of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

South Africa Bafana Bafana is currently second in group E and we need just a draw to qualify for the 2019 AFCON tournament that will be held in Egypt.

Group E standings

Nigeria 10 5 3 1 1 11 5 6
South Africa 9 5 2 0 3 9 1 8
Libya 7 5 2 2 1 15 9 6
Seychelles 1 5 0 4 1 2 22 -20

The match between Bafana Bafana versus Libya will be on Sunday the 24th March 2019 at the Stade Taïeb Mhiri in Sfax, Tunisia. Kick off will be at 19:00 in South Africa.

Bafana Bafana goes into the match as the only team in the group without a loss. However Libya is the highest scoring team in the group.

The other game in group E will be Nigeria versus Seychelles. Nigeria is one point above South Africa. Seychelles is yet to win a game in the qualifiers.

So if Bafana Bafana is to qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations we have to rely on ourselves and beat or at the very least draw with Libya.
