Bushiri Escapes South African Law

Bushiri and his wife, Mary Bushiri, skipped the country, leaving South Africans in disbelief.

Shepherd  Bushiri and his wife Mary, Landiwe Ntlokwana Zethu and Willie Mudolo are facing charges of theft, money laundering and fraud in connection with an alleged R100m investment scheme. The pair were granted R200k bail last week Wednesday after their arrest last month.

Police minister Bheki Cele is at the receiving end of criticism on social media as users blame him in part for the escape of prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary.

People in SA couldn’t help but mock Minister Bheki Cele for allowing this to happen in his watch, having being a strict and determined individual when it comes to matters of justice and law enforcement. Some even going as far as naming Bheki Cele ‘minister of Alcohol.’

“If Bushiri had some alcohol in his luggage, Bheki Cele would have caught him before reaching Malawi,” one user tweeted on Sunday.

Another tweep added, “So vele our minister of police Bheki Cele is only after alcohol because I don’t see anything about Bushiri?”

Most South Africans shocked that the Bushiris were granted bail in the first place, people all over Mzansi took to their social media platforms to weigh in on the situation, including some of our favorite media faces.

“We should change our country’s name to Disneyland. This Bushiri saga shows me uba people take us for a p$£s!” Anele tweeted.

Manaka and Shimza took the joke route and posted a video of the “prophet” in which the pastor was preaching about “running away”. Manaka posted hers with the caption:

“Happy Sunday Yall. If ‘uDle phantsi’ was a person.”
