Tamaryn Green is from Paarl, Western Cape. She has a medical degree from the University of Cape Town. Green won the Miss South Africa pageant earlier this year and qualified to move onto the Miss Universe pageant, which took place this past Sunday.

After days of the contestants touring Bangkok, rehearsals and photo shoots for the pageant, it has come to an end. The show was hosted by TV host Steve Harvey and supermodel Ashley Graham. The competition has 93 contestants from around the world.  The pageant also featured its first transgender contestant, Angela Ponce from Spain.
